Corporate cards are the favorite method of paying for business expenses, but they are not ubiquitous. Even though corporate cards are regarded as best practice for numerous reasons relating to transparency and process efficiency, they are used only by 59% of respondents, followed by private credit card (35%), cash (including debit card – 25%), invoice/remittance (23%) and cash advance (10%).

Despite the corporate card’s benefits (ensuring that travelers keep their private and business expense separate, consolidating spending data from all travelers and reduction of administrative overhead), still many companies allow travelers to use additional less efficient methods of payment.
