Hello and thank you for this forum. My question refers to frequent business travelers. I have a client that travels much of the time on a last minute basic and he asked if there was anyway to get better the the “going” rates for air travel because he has an IATAN card he thought that maybe there may be a “stand by” rate. I’ve never heard of anything like that so I thought your website be a good place to ask. So if you have any insight on this question we’d appreciate it. Thank you and I’ll be checking with IATAN as well.

What is an IATAN card?

If a person has an IATAN card then they are (theoretically at least) a travel agent. So this question appears to be about industry insider-rates traveling on standby tickets. If the person is eligible then its really a question that their employer would be able to answer.

I don’t think IATAN cards are much good for discount air any more. FAM tours at resorts perhaps but not air.
