…one company in five runs its travel program without a policy?

Exactly two-thirds of respondents say they have a policy for all areas of travel and another 14% for some aspects only. This means that the remaining 20% continue to run their travel program without a policy, which is hard to understand in spite of the proven ability, to win supplier deals, keep down average prices and discourage unnecessary journeys.

Not surprisingly, the size of spend is also a critical factor. While only 5% of high spenders have no policy, that figure rises to 16% for medium spenders and 31% for small spenders. Thus, a significant minority of businesses are missing a good opportunity to improve their control of travel.
